PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

The two-day programme is designed to give an introduction to Banking for incoming bank non-executive directors or directors who are not from the banking industry. As financial intermediaries, banks mobilise funds from savers and channel them to capital users to finance economic activities. Directors of banking institutions have an enormous responsibility to shareholders and the public at large to ensure, through effective oversight of the board, that banks are operating in a sound manner. The programme will provide a solid foundation for the rest of the FIDE programme by introducing important concepts and giving a basic understanding of how Banks are run and regulated.
