PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

 

This programme is designed to provide insurance directors with a solid understanding of risks associated with the insurance business and how these risks should be managed from the board of directors’ perspective. Whilst the sessions will cover the theories and requirements of ICAAP and Enterprise Risk Management (“ERM”), the programme will be highly interactive. Participants will be engaged in case studies discussion as well as other interactive exercises.

 

The programme aims to:

· Introduce directors to the key risks in insurance;

· Provide insurance directors with a basic understanding of the ICAAP framework;

· Enable insurance directors to articulate risk appetite;

· Provide insurance directors with a basic understanding of the Risk-Based Capital (“RBC”) framework in Malaysia;

· Discuss the issues associated with stress testing in insurance;

· Provide insurance directors with a basic understanding of capital management; and

· Discuss the issues associated with implementing the ICAAP framework in Malaysia.
