Datuk Dr Mohd Daud Bakar is the Founder and Group Chairman of Amanie Advisors, a global boutique Shariah advisory firm with offices located worldwide. He currently sits as a Chairman of the Shariah Advisory Council at Bank Negara Malaysia, Securities Commission Malaysia, Labuan Financial Services Authority and the International Islamic Liquidity Management Corporation (IILM). He is also a Shariah board member of various financial institutions, including the National Bank of Oman (Oman), Noor Islamic Bank (Dubai), Amundi Asset Management (France), Morgan Stanley (Dubai), Bank of London and Middle East (London), BNP Paribas (Bahrain), Bank Al Khair (Bahrain), Islamic Bank of Asia (Singapore), Dow Jones Islamic Market Index (New York), Financial Guidance (USA), amongst many others.


Prior to this, he was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the International Islamic University Malaysia. He received his first degree in Shariah from University of Kuwait in 1988 and obtained his PhD from University of St. Andrews, United Kingdom in 1993. In 2002, he completed his external Bachelor of Jurisprudence at University of Malaya. He has published a number of articles in various academic journals and has made many presentations in various conferences both locally and overseas.


On the recognition side, Datuk Dr Mohd Daud has been honoured with "The Asset Triple A Industry Leadership Award" at The Asset Triple A Islamic Finance Award 2014 by The Asset magazine. He has also been named the "Most Outstanding Individual" awarded by His Majesty, the King of Malaysia, in conjunction with Prophet Muhammad's birthday celebrations in 2014.

Mr Rajeev Peshawaria is the Chief Executive Officer of the Iclif Leadership and Governance Centre in Malaysia, author of Too Many Bosses, Too Few Leaders (Simon & Schuster 2011) and a regular writer for Forbes and Mint-Wall Street Journal. Mr Rajeev has extensive global experience in leadership development with a particular focus on developing and delivering on business strategy. Mr Rajeev's professional roots are in industry. He has been Chief Learning Officer of both Coca-Cola and Morgan Stanley, and has formerly held senior positions at American Express and Goldman Sachs. At Goldman, Mr Rajeev helped found Pine Street - the firm's acclaimed leadership academy - and headed Pine Street for Europe and Asia. He has also provided coaching, consulting and advisory services globally. His current research centres around the implications of recent Neuroscience and Quantum Physics discoveries on leadership.


Mr Rajeev is a sought after international speaker and has been widely featured in international media platforms such as Bloomberg TV & radio, National Public Radio (NPR), Harvard Business Review, CNBC, Fast Company, Leader to Leader, American Management Association (AMA) magazine, Leadership Excellence magazine, The Times of India, The National Dubai, Mint-Wall Street Journal and the Conference Board. Rajeev and his family have lived in fourteen cities in eight countries.

Mr Daud Vicary Abdullah is the President and Chief Executive Officer of INCEIF, The Global University of Islamic Finance. He has been in the finance and consulting industry for over 41 years, with significant experience in Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. Since 2002, he has focused exclusively on Islamic finance where he has contributed to a number of books on the subject and has co-authored a book on Islamic finance entitled "Islamic Finance: Why it makes sense." He is also a frequent speaker and commentator on matters relating to Islamic finance.


Prior to INCEIF, Mr Daud was the Global Islamic Finance Leader with Deloitte. He was also previously Acting CEO of Asian Finance Bank, an Islamic bank based in Malaysia, and was the first Managing Director of Hong Leong Islamic Bank.


He is a Chartered Islamic Finance Professional (CIFP), a Distinguished Fellow of the Islamic Banking and Finance Institute of Malaysia (IBFIM) and a former Board member (2003 – 2007) of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI).


Currently, Mr Daud is a member of the Global Group in Islamic Finance & Investment (Global IFIG), under the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, UK; a member of the Steering Committee for The Royal Awards for Islamic Finance (RAIF), a member of the Islamic Finance Committee at the Malaysia Institute of Accountants (MIA) and a Senior Advisor for University of East London's Islamic Finance and Banking Advisory Board.

Dato’ Dr Abdul Halim Bin Ismail is a member of the Shariah Advisory Council of the Securities Commission Malaysia since 1996. He was appointed as the first Managing Director of Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, the first Islamic bank in Malaysia in 1983 and held the position until 1994.


Dato’ Dr Abdul Halim further progressed the Islamic finance industry by leading the setting up of the first takaful company in Malaysia. He was also the first to introduce Islamic contracts into the sophisticated business of stock trading and established the first Islamic stockbroking company, and became the Executive Chairman of BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd in 1994. He was also instrumental in strengthening the objectives and enhancing the operations of the Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YPEIM)..


On the global front, Dato’ Dr Abdul Halim provided strategic guidance to countries that wanted to start up their own Islamic banks, and collaborated with several multilateral agencies and standard setting bodies on developing policies and setting standards.


Dato’ Dr Abdul Halim was recently presented The Royal Award for Islamic Finance 2014 by His Majesty the King of Malaysia, as recognition for his exceptional and instrumental role in the establishment and formation of the first Islamic bank, takaful and stockbroking companies in Malaysia which have served as the benchmark institutions for other regional Islamic financial institutions to emulate.
